Volunteering

This summer, I volunteered at the Alachua County Animal Shelter outside of Gainesville, Florida, and it was such a wonderful experience. I had never worked with animals in any of my volunteer jobs before and I got so much out of it.

I almost worked 50 hours just in that one job, and I'm wondering if 50 hours is an underestimate of how much time I want to spend volunteering. Then again, this summer I was doing it while only working a part time job and I know that when I'm at school I don't have the same amount of time.

I made a call on December 3rd to volunteer my time with a volunteer organization back home over Christmas. I haven't heard back yet, but I really hope that I can do something to help out. I got the information out of my church newsletter. I was so grateful that they still have me on the list because I had been looking for an opportunity to volunteer!
