I submitted my application to Oxford's one year taught masters program in Women's Studies on November 18th.
Since it was my first application it really was more work than I think that any of the others will be. It is a huge relief to have all of my documents compiled together in one place. Hopefully most of the other requirements will be overlapping.
I find out about admission sometime after January 18th. It's a small program; about 15 people get spots per year. I'll keep you updated.
UPDATE: As of January 17th, 2008, I was admitted to the Women's Studies Masters program at Oxford. I don't know about which college yet, but I am so excited. This was my first letter from any of the places I applied, so it is a HUGE deal. I got the small envelope, but when I opened it, it was actually good news. I couldn't believe it. I jumped up and down, called a bunch of people, and used a party popper that exploded confetti everywhere.
The best moment, though, was calling my grandpa who is in the hospital and hearing the excitement in his voice when I told him the news. He said he was proud of me and always knew I was smart. Oxford is a name that he recognizes as a great school, even with the generation gap. He's my last grandparent and to be able to know that he has been given this opportunity to be proud of me and to get to hear that means so much. More, almost, than getting into graduate school.
